I performed a wide variety of roles whilst with this umbrella company in its infancy.

My job as studio and project manager covered a great many roles:
- planning, managing and client-handling multiple projects during all stages of development
- cost estimation and ROI for said projects
- heading-up architecture and testing of a variety of digital media projects
- working to develop process, personnel and infrastructure strategies for the business
- recruiting and managing freelancers and full-time staff
- day-to-day running of the Bristol studio, 10-15 people
- studio resource scheduling and management
- reporting to company directors for board meetings
- training new staff and graduates
Whilst with Team Rubber I worked on all sorts of digital media wonders including: flash games, collaborative websites and web applications, animation and cd/dvd build. See my projects for more info.

Website Developer: INBIS, Engineering Consultants
Now called Assystem UK. My project involved developing the concepts and producing a content-managed website for the Society of British Aerospace Companies in association with the Bristol University Aerospace department.
My role was to provide technical support and shadow the principal consultant at the Assystem Bristol office.
I was involved in meetings with a spectrum of parties interested in the project and was responsible for defining the concepts, structure and specification of the site.
The site was developed using MySQL, PHP and CSS.
July 2003 – present
Design/web development work: Freelance
I undertake a small amount of freelance work doing web designs, flyers and consultancy. Recent projects include:
Bristol University - 3rd year games project mentor in 2006/2007 and guest speaker for the Advanced Software Development unit in 2006 and 2007 (see my presentation).
- Chris Higgins that's me - Sept-Dec 2007, designed and built this simple portfolio site for up and coming teenage author Chris Higgins. Site features dynamic events page using RSS feeds and book database system.
- We love ashton court festival - May/June 2007, helped set the site up to promote the need to fundraise for the 2007 festival. Apart from paying for the domain name all the software came free and I just used my HTML/CSS skills to stick it all together.
- Malawi Education Project - on-going work for this Bristol-based NGO, recycles and sends unwanted educational materials to Malawi, Africa. I designed, built and currently manage the content of the site. I make improvements here and there and I've also introduced their organisation to the joys of Basecamp.

IT skills
For the past 2 years I have been managing and building sites in the open source application server, Zope, and also the content management system Plone, which is an extension of Zope.
VCS Collaborate, School Councils UK and Picture Poll are just 3 examples of projects I have managed in these systems.
I am very happy to build simple dynamic sites in HTML/CSS both within Zope and also using PHP. When architecting sites I usually build a rough wireframe of the intended design for a client as I think this helps communication of what the deliverable will be and how it will behave, especially when clients don't know their forums from their functions.
I am proficient in Java, Python, C, SQL, PHP, Actionscript, HTML/CSS and XML. My general understanding of programming allows my management skills to be better and my work relationship with a development team more measured.
I have an excellent general understanding of computers after studying Computer Science at Bristol Uni, which is ranked among the top 4 courses in the country.
